The second large topic that I write about is chiropractic, which is a very complex healing method.

Chiropractic is becoming more and more popular in Hungary, more and more reports, articles and books are published on the subject Everybody interested in naturopathy has to know about the notion of chiropractic.

Its essence is using special techniques, and the mechanic strength of the hand to heal. Hands have always played an important role in healing throughout the history of mankind. The importance of the hands has remained through millennia in the Hungarian language, hence the word for hand is "kéz" and the word for treatment is "kezelés".

The history of chiropractic is approximately five thousand years old, according to evidence from the past. People instinctively rubbed and poked parts of the body in pain, even in the prehistoric age. Standing on a person's spine to cure back pains is a well-known technique almost all over the world.

Techniques that are used to readjust the cervical vertebra can be found in ancient Egyptian literature. Most famous doctors of the Middle Ages combined the pulling of the spinal column with turning the vertebrae. Among Hungarians, the Táltosok used this special series of movements. Later, until the 1400's, countless convents cured without operation. The monks could cure many musculoskelatal disorders this way.

Today, there are many ex-soviet chiropractors working in the country, most of whom use their strength to readjust joins. Innovations in this field came a few years ago, when Chinese, Malay, and Irish chiropractors demonstrated a method that used not strength, but bioenergy. This is how vertebrae that caused problems, ischialgia, neck and shoulder pains, and sclerosis for weeks or months can be readjusted without pain.

How does one become a chiropractor?

Despite my young age, I had lumbago on several occasions, because people's vertebrae today get damaged more easily. I had severe pains in my lower back, and all sorts of problems, so I went to chiropractors who treated them. Then I realized that even if they straighten out my spinal column, I have to take care of it afterwards. I felt pretty good after the treatment, but there was a doubt in me. What if it gets worse? I will never be safe, because it will never be perfect. I observed and learned even when the chiropractor was treating me. Four or five years ago, American chiropractors came to the country, they trained and held demonstrations. It was from them, and my wife, that I learned the basics of classical chiropractic. In America, there are two schools. Palmer University and Taylor University, where they teach chiropractic, and many people graduate annually. In fact, some health insurance companies in America offer insured people a free chiropractic treatment every three months. The insured can go to a chiropractor to have his neck, feet or lower back readjusted, and the company pays for it. "Why?" you might ask. Because the health insurance companies know very well that many internal problems can be prevented if the vertebrae are in the right place.

Every vertebra has a nerve going to an internal organ, e.g.: from the third vertebra to the lungs, from the fifth vertebra to the kidneys, from the first, second and third cervical vertebrae to the tongue, ears, eyes, gums etc. Hence, one of the causes of chronic diseases is the deformation of the vertebrae. Most diseases are multifactorial. The way of naturopathy is to put these factors in order, and try to eliminate them, because there are enough factors that, are harmful even without these.

Thus, one of these important problems is the sickness of the spinal column. Later, I studied from Swiss and Japanese chiropractors, and I achieved a level, where I knew hundreds of techniques and I could readjust every bone and every vertebra. This is when the big turning point came in my life. I was introduced to Mr. Masayuki, who uses a unique method to cure. It is called hip-pushing-squeezing massage. Mr. Masayuki is one of Japans most well-known spine therapists even though he has no degree in medicine. He is one of the few that can readjust herniated intervertebral disks, and hip bones. I learned a great deal from him. I learned when and how to cure injuries, that I could not treat with manual therapy. It was in 1990, that I reached the level, where I could begin treating herniated intervertebral disks. Today, I am at a point, where even doctors and professors from various clinics and hospitals come to me for treatment.

Many have heard about Chinese Kung-fu. In China, Kung-fu can only be thought, if the students have already learned the science of putting back and healing bones. They teach about medical herbs, moxabustion and chiropractic. Mr. Masayuki learned this science in China, and translated it to everyday language. Among these fighting healing techniques, there was one that no one had ever used in Europe until that time, and this was the putting back of the sacrum. More precisely, not only the vertebrae of the spinal column have to be readjusted, hut the joints of the sacrum also. Without this, results are enly temporary. The complaints will resurface after some time. Mr. Masayuki realized, that if for some reason the sacrum dislocates, than this dislocation is followed by the vertebrae, because the spinal column has to be perpendicular to the hip bone. People try to correct this problem with their posture, that is why the spinal column bends. It does not matter how many chiropractors straighten it out, after a while it will bend again, because the spinal column has to be perpendicular to the sacrum. Hence, the primary reason for scoliosis and the musculoskelatal disorders that develop because of it is the dislocation of the sacrum. The most important result of Mr. MasayukTs work is a technique, using which the sacrum can be readjusted If the spinal column is straightened out after this technique, the complaints will not return even after one or two years. It is easy to discover whether the dislocation of the sacrum causes the scoliosis for a specific person.

While the patient is lying on his stomach, it has to be observed whether his legs seem to be the same length.

If it seems like one of the legs is one to one and a half centimeters shorter, it is likely that they are the same length, but because of the dislocation of the sacrum one is at a higher point.

If the hip bone is readjusted, the problems will go away at once. Written down like this, the problem may seem simple, and hence the solution may seem simple also, however, my experience shows, that the hip bones of most people are dislocated. Furthermore, I see extreme cases almost daily, that prove that unfortunately even specialists do not know about these matters, today, in Hungary. Here is an example to prove my point: A child was brought to me, who had one leg 3 centimeters shorter than the other. Previously, for years, the child had been taken to specialists, and they prescribed a 2.5-centimeter insole.

These problems can be treated in two minutes, and the procedure is absolutely painless. It is recommended to repeat the treatment two of three times, since a hip bone that has been dislocated for fifteen years cannot be readjusted easily. If I readjust the bones the muscles accustomed to the dislocation will pull them back. A kind of game starts: I readjust them, the muscles pull them back, fortunately by the third time the muscles lose their bad reflex.

Professor Wellich, who taught me chiropractic, doctor Wu Bin Jiang, the Irish Bobby, the Czechoslovakian Magdolna Hajka, who taught me to cure flat-feet, and other Hungarian and foreign chiropractors were among my teachers also. There is a wisdom behind each technique I learned from them.

The bones can be readjusted almost painlessly using all I have learned from my teachers. There are hardly any moans or hisses when I cure, because everything is achieved through bioenergy. Out of all the methods, I developed one that can be made European.

Lumbago causes serious problems for many people. If patients with this disease come to me, I cure them with a single technique and they can walk home unassisted.

After one or two more occasions, they will feel perfectly fine, and they do not have to go to the doctor for years for injections. For example, there is a patient with a sore shoulder who cannot raise his arms. I can cure his shoulder completely with a technique or two. Not long ago, a man who could not turn his neck came to me. He had problems with his vertebrae. They wanted to operate on him, but he could be cured with only two techniques. I often meet women above whose seventh cervical vertebra, the bone, flesh and skin grew out like a hump. This not only disturbs movement, but it is not nice aesthetically either. Fine results can be achieved even with one treatment, but I usually repeat it to have perfect results.

Many people believe, that most of the different diseases are caused by viruses, bacteria or genetic diathesis. People often forget that outside physical causes can aid the development of diseases. These could be problems caused by their lifestyle, their diets, or deformation of the spinal column. My experience shows, that the position of the spinal column and the hip bone is a determining factor in the harmony and symmetry of our systems.

My experience has showed that most patient's hip bones are dislocated, sometimes they just do not realize it. Normally, both legs are the same length, and the two sides of the hip bone are at the same level. Both legs are equally strong, and the muscles are soft if at rest. From the viewpoint of healing, the condition of the muscles around the joints is very important. If the muscles are tense and stiff, the required manipulation cannot be done. The stiff muscles around the spine or hip bone keep them dislocated. This is when foulage, acupuncture, and bioenergetic treatment are used. Only the person who has no dislocated bones can keep his system in balance. I have to mention that the degree of scoliosis in most people is 2-3 centimeters. Unfortunately, 4 or even 6-centimeter curves are not rare either. Many people ask, why dislocations are so dangerous. Because then the body is under a asymmetric burden.

There are many interesting outside signs that indicate this. The experienced eye can often detect scoliosis from the way the face is aligned. Unfortunately the asymmetry appears here also. With a right side dislocation for example, the left side of the face is visibly stiffer. The same way, the deformation can be seen on the hands also.

The hand on the healthy side is much more flexible, it opens more than the other. It is an interesting observation, that with a left side dislocation, the patient usually puts his pants on the left leg first, and takes them of from the right leg first. When casually standing, he stands on his healthy leg, and uses the same leg for the first step. In this case the left leg becomes stronger while the right leg becomes spasmodic. The right side becomes more vulnerable to disease. Some of these diseases are: the illness of the right shoulder, back, hip and knee joint, furthermore liver and digestive system disorders, and diarrhea. On the other hand, cardiac diseases are not likely. It is an interesting observation also, that the digestive system functions correctly with skinny people.

I have heard It many times, when people said that the child will grow out of scoliosis. He has to exercise more. Despite the fact, that the dislocation of the spine, and hip bone is the disorder that people are less likely to grow out of. Unfortunately, it is the same problem with the different exercises. No one doubts the positive effect of exercise on our body, it is only that in most cases, the work put on the body will make things worse. I have also seen that the curving of the spine does not stop with time, it continues, and this is when it takes up the shape of an "S". In this case, the digestive system recovers, appetite increases, and the patient gains weight. The left lung becomes smaller than the right lung, as a consequence of the deformation of the spine, the patient will catch cold more easily, and he will be more vulnerable to cardiac diseases. Both legs become more tiresome, and the weight of the body shifts from one leg to the other more often. In this condition, the person will be more vulnerable to any disease, and problems occur on both sides. The development of heart-disease and hepatopathia, furthermore the alternation of diarrhea and constipation have to be counted on also. The most important task of the new, modern method is to readjust the dislocated hip bone, because if the foundation is not perfect, the whole building may collapse.

Many have inquired about an age limit above or bellow which manual therapy cannot be used. The dislocated hip bone can be readjusted at any age. One or two sessions might be enough for young people, while older people - depending on the condition of their muscles - may need 3-4 sessions. In case of decalcification it is absolutely not recommended.

Even the back pains of pregnant mothers can be cured, until child-birth. Furthermore the relaxing of the muscles of the pelvis and the hip makes the widening of the pelvis easier, and hence makes birth easier. A important aspect of my method is that I always treat the whole body, and work all the joints. My opinion is that only the harmony of all the bones of the body can lead to recovery.

After treatment, I give my patients advice on diet and exercise. I feel it is very important from the viewpoint of keeping the system in balance.

After readjusting bones, many times the patient feels worse temporarily. This is the time to discover which organs are weak. After continuing the treatment the complaints will go away. One great advantage of spinal massage is that it can be used alongside other techniques, and it can complement regular medicine. It should not be overlooked either, that contrary to using drugs to cure, this method has no side effects whatsoever.

What diseases can the deformation of the spine cause?

The mechanism by which the condition of the spine has an effect on our organs is very interesting and very complex. Arising from the biological make up of the human body, this effect extends to all parts, so there is not one disease that does not benefit from the deformation of the spine. Fortunately in most cases, when the harmony of the spine and joints is set back, accompanying diseases disappear also. One that treats the spine, treats the whole body. In the following, I will describe the specific diseases that develop most often as a result of dislocation or deformation of specific vertebrae. This is also the basis for spine diagnosis.
